Membership Model Work Group

In 2006, IAEE changed its business model and dues model to become a trade association representing the exhibitions and events industry. The member became the company and companies provide a census of their staff that are then recognized as member representatives receiving all benefits of membership. Prior to 2006, the association was a professional society with individual memberships only.

Since 2006, the association environment has changed with members having different needs and expectations on what they believe the “value” of membership in an association should be. Many associations are creating hybrid models of membership.

The IAEE dues model was recently reviewed in 2014 with several additions of new membership categories. Given the rapidly changing association environment and models, IAEE would like to further evaluate the current membership model and offerings to enhance overall member value and engagement.
