Marsha Flanagan Joins IAEE as Vice President, Learning Experiences

Marsha Flanagan HeadshotDALLAS, 22 October 2012 – Today, the International Association of Exhibitions and Events™ (IAEE) announced that Marsha Flanagan has joined the association as vice president of learning experiences. In this role, she will be responsible for the continued enhancement of IAEE’s educational content creation, working closely with IAEE’s Education Council to develop programs that align with the strategic initiatives of the association which will, in turn, benefit IAEE members and exhibitions and events industry professionals as a whole.

IAEE President David DuBois, CMP, CAE, FASAE, CTA, said, "With the addition of Marsha to IAEE’s executive team, I am excited and confident that she will continue the charge put forth by both the IAEE Board of Directors and the Education Committee to develop the most relevant and essential professional development programs possible based on the ever-changing needs of IAEE members. She will be an excellent addition to the staff.”

Flanagan commented, “I am thrilled to join IAEE in this role, and I believe my not-for-profit background and understanding of the meetings industry in creating content, events and certification programs fits perfectly with the unique needs of this position.”

Previously, Flanagan was the director of content strategy and development for the Promotional Products Association International (PPAI) where she oversaw the directional strategy as well as the development and delivery of all current and future PPAI professional development and editorial offerings. Prior to joining PPAI, she served as director of operations for The Center for Skin and Cosmetic Dermatology. She started her career in nonprofit management with Meeting Professionals International (MPI). At MPI, she was vice president of professional development for where she oversaw operations including all strategic partnerships, the design and delivery of all professional development offerings and meetings management.  Flanagan received her bachelor's degree in education from Texas Christian University and her Master in Education from the University of Arkansas.
