2010 CEM Online Learning Program

Welcome to CEM Online!  Ten (10) CEM modules will be offered at various times throughout the year online and facilitator - led.  Each course is four (4) weeks in length and the material is accessible online 24/7.  Full participation is required to obtain credit for the module.

**Each registrant will receive an email approximately 5 days prior to the first day of the online course containing detailed course information and online instructions.**

Be sure to select the online course that best fits in with your schedule due to the fact that there are no refunds or "credits" given after the start date of the program. See our Cancellation Policy below.

What to Expect with the Online Course

In order to facilitate online interaction, there will be discussion thread postings and other assignments that will be due on a weekly basis. Although the online courses are very flexible, registrants are expected to complete the weekly assignments by their due date. If there is a conflict with a registrant's schedule, he or she is encouraged to contact their instructor.

Each set of weekly course work will start on a Wednesday morning and end the following Tuesday evening. All assignments and discussion postings are due by that Tuesday evening in order to allow time for the facilitator to do any necessary scoring and prepare for the next lesson. Your facilitator will be available on a daily basis via e-mail and the discussion groups to address any concerns and to respond to discussion postings. You can expect to spend between 1.5 - 2 hours a week on course material.

The course material is governed by 'adaptive release settings' - meaning that if you fail to complete one area or do not make a 100% on your Self-Check Quiz, the next area will not be released to you. In order to successfully complete the course, you must:

  • Review all weekly content (reading) and click "Mark as Reviewed"
  • Complete ALL Discussion Board Questions by posting your response AND replying to at least one other student's posting.
  • Make a 100% on each Weekly Self-Check Quiz

Failing to do ANY ONE of the above will cause you to NOT successfully complete the course. THis means that you will NOT be eligible to take the course exam and you will have to retake the entire course at a later date.

One week prior to your course's start date, you will receive a welcome email with introductory information in regards to the online format & course information. Then on Tuesday evening (one day prior to the course opening), you will receive an email containing your login information & more detailed course information. If you do not receive either of these emails, please check your SPAM folder. If it is not there, then please contact me immediately and I will have it resent.

You MUST complete the Taking an Online Course regardless of whether you have taken one before or not in order to have access to the Week One material. (If you do NOT do this, it will say WEEK ONE - FOLDER EMPTY when you try to access the Week One content.)
