CEM Course Information
The International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) is a trade association established to promote the growth and expansion of the world wide exhibition industry. IAEE accomplishes its mission through education and advocacy programs and provides the professional certification of individuals through the Certified in Exhibition Management (CEM) Program. The Certified in Exhibition Management (CEM) designation was created in 1975 to provide a professional designation for individuals in the exhibition industry. The designation was formed to raise professional standards and is recognized throughout the industry as the premier mark of professional achievement.
The CEM Learning Program is a comprehensive course of study of specific and practical information within the exhibition and event management arena and is based on a Curriculum Blueprint that is composed of the essential concepts required of a competent professional in the area of Exhibition and Event Management.
The CEM designation is obtained when a candidate completes a prescribed number of courses offered in classroom and on-line formats.
Online Courses
All eleven CEM courses are offered online at various times throughout the year. Each course is five weeks in length with four weeks of instruction and one week for review. All online courses are facilitated by a CEM instructor. All coursework takes place online and the material is accessible 24/7. Assignments must be completed within a specified time period in order to fulfill the requirements of the course and be eligible to sit for the exam.
On-Location Courses
All eleven CEM courses are offered at various times throughout the year and are often co-located with other industry association events and IAEE Chapters. On-location courses are activity-based learning environments where the students can engage and learn from their peers as well as the instructor. On-location courses start at 8:30am and end at 5:00pm. The course material is sent prior to the start of class and registrants are required to read the course material prior to attending.
