CEM Learning Program Online

CEM Online Learning Program courses offer distance learning to CEM candidates who need more flexibility in their schedules along with convenience while completing their CEM designation.  Through Blackboard, IAEE's Learning Management System, facilitators and students can interact at a distance without having to be physically present in the same location. Coursework takes place online and is accessible 24 hours a day 7 days a week anywhere access to a computer and the Internet is available. All eleven courses will be offered at various times throughout the year online.

What to Expect with an Online Course

Online learning differs from face-to-face learning in that the online students decides when their learning takes place. Students must practice time management and self-discipline to stay on track and complete assignments on time. Students are asked to adhere to deadlines and weekly requirements but IAEE and the course instructor also understand that a majority of students have full-time jobs with families and other commitments. Therefore students are asked to notify the instructor if they will be traveling, on vacation or have other commitments that will keep them from completing their assignments.  IAEE and the instructor reserve the right to administratively drop any student that does not log in to Blackboard at least once during the first three days of class or is not completing their weekly assignments throughout the course.

CEM Learning Program online courses are five weeks in length with four weeks of instruction and one for review. Each week starts on a Wednesday morning and ends the following Tuesday evening.  Students can expect to spend between 1.5 - 2 hours a week on course material. There are three ways to participate in the online courses -  discussion board exercises, reading assignments and quizzes. Each week there are discussion board exercises, assigned reading from the course module and self-check quizzes that are outlined for the students and graded.  Assignments are expected to be completed by their due date. .
