Floor Plans & Layouts
Room: 151 A - Level 1 (Street level)

Setting up an exhibition and laying out booths is a tedious, yet important, process. Learn the seven important elements necessary to create a floor plan, and how to use them to design the best manageable floor plan for an exhibition for both attendees and exhibitors.

Objectives:
   1. Identify the elements necessary to create a marketable floor plan.
   2. Identify the three basic kinds of booths used in a typical floor plan.
   3. Identify the five factors that impact traffic flow on a floor plan.
   4. Design a workable floor plan for an exhibition.

Presenter:  Greg D. Ruby, CASE, CEM, CMP      Assistant Director of Building Services     Baltimore Convention Center

 

Greg D. Ruby is the Assistant Director of Building Services for the Baltimore Convention Center.  In this role since 2005, he oversees all electrical, audio, telecommunication and utility services for both exhibitors and show sponsors.  Greg was previously a Convention Services Manager at the BCC for five years before his current position and was honored as the 2005 CSM of the Year by the Association of Convention Operations Management (ACOM).  Greg’s 20 years of experience with trade shows, meetings and exhibitions have dealt with a wide variety and sizes for associations and independent organizers.  In 2007, Greg was honored to be chosen to participate in the Future Leaders Institute offered by the International Association of Exhibition and Events (IAEE). Greg became a member of IAEE in 2004 and currently serves on the Finance Committee and the Committee for Environmentally Responsible Exhibitions & Events.
