Requirements of the Program - How it all works!

The CEM Learning Program requires that a candidate must complete a nine-part (9) education program, seven (7) mandatory, and two (2) elective courses. The courses are offered in three different learning environments throughout the calendar year:

On Location - a one-day program at a specified location; may be in conjunction with a larger IAEE meeting or a stand alone session
Online - a four-week instructor facilitated, web-based course
Self-Paced (elective courses only) - a course that allows you to decide when and where!

Qualifying for the Certification

To earn the CEM certification, candidates must:

Successfully complete all nine (9) courses, including passing the corresponding nine (9) examinations within three (3) years beginning the year following their first passed examination. Have at least three (3) years of full-time experience as a practitioner in exhibition management. CEM candidates must fill out a Work History Verfication form and send to the Program Coordinator.  Click here to download Work History Verfication form.

Candidates may take these courses in any order they desire, as there are no prerequisites recommended at this time. Recertification is required every two years after receiving the initial certification. Click here to learn more about CEM Recertification.

Application Process - How do I get started?

There is no formal application to enroll in the CEM Learning Program. To begin on your path toward the designation simply enroll in your first course; On-Location, Online or Self-Paced. Your START DATE in the CEM Learning program is the date that you take and PASS your first CEM examination.
