January 2009 Program
Expo! Expo! always provides a 360-degree view of the trade show industry.
The recent 2008 Expo! Expo! Annual Meeting and Exhibition in Miami was no
disappointment. Chapter members returned home from South Beach in December
with great industry insight, several new tips and tricks and an eagerness
to share their knowledge.
More than 24 members attended the January program hosted by DoubleTree North in Westminster, CO. Roundtables were filled with topics such as: “Going Green without Going Broke,” “Social Networking & Your Show,” “The Perfect Storm, Weathering the Current Economic and Transportation Crisis,” “Effective Floorplan Management” and “Who’s Responsibility is Exhibitor ROI.” These topics represent what’s important to industry professionals today. Attendees represented a good mix of show managers and industry vendors. The strength of the roundtable format is that it promotes conversations and shared ideas that benefit the entire show team. From operations to marketing to sales, Bringing Expo! Expo! Home to You has been, and proves to remain, a strong program for the Rocky Mountain Chapter. “It’s great to participate in a group full of such great ideas – everyone shared a bunch and took away even more. It was a wonderful way to start our 2009 programming. The energy from the group and eagerness to learn and be involved was contagious!” said RMCIAEE Vice Chair, Denise Miller. Peer-to-peer learning is a huge benefit to professionals belonging to IAEE. There are more roundtable sessions and learning to come!
