Course Description: A position in event operations requires an understanding of project management functions and may require the skills to run an event, understand and manage marketing, conduct sales and provide exceptional customer service. It may also require the skills to develop print and email marketing materials, to create and update floor plans, maintain the trade show portion of a website, negotiate and manage vendor contracts and much more. This may be one individual's job or the responsibilities could be distributed among several individuals within a department. As a result, there is much to learn about event operations.

At the conclusion of this course, the participant should be able to:

  *   Understand the four project management functions
  *   Develop an Event Specification Guide
  *   Create an agenda and facilitate a "pre-con" meeting with key stakeholders
  *   Develop an Exhibitor Manual
  *   Compare and contrast the types of insurance needed for an event
  *   Understand and explain the key considerations of move-in and move-out
  *   Identify the security requirements needed during move-out
  *   Explain the value of conducting a post-event evaluation
