The search for tomorrow’s industry leaders has begun! IAEE is looking for professionals with an interest in getting involved with IAEE and assuming leadership roles in the exhibition and events industry.
To be considered for admission to the IAEE Robert Krakoff Leadership Institute, applicants must be a member of IAEE and complete and submit the following documents:

How will each of the submitted documents be evaluated?
Each of the documents will scored using a weighted point system. For details on how each document will be scored by the committee reviewers, please see the point system below.
Application = 20 point (10 points per criterion) Evaluation Criterion 1: Industry experienceEvaluation Criterion 2: IAEE involvement

Leadership Commitment Essay = 40 points (10 points for each component)Component 1: Why do you want to participate in the Krakoff Leadership Institute?Component 2: What do you want to take away and/or learn from the program?Component 3: How do you plan to apply what you learn in the Krakoff Leadership Institute? Component 4: After completing the Krakoff Leadership Institute, how do you plan to get involved with KLI and IAEE at the leadership level?How are the KLI candidates selected?The initial review of applicants will determine if each applicant has submitted all required documents, which includes the application, professional resume, the letter or recommendation and the leadership commitment essay. Incomplete applications, applications missing one or more of the required documents and late submissions will not be considered.
Once it has been determined that the applicant has submitted a completed application and all supporting documents, the applicant’s information will be forwarded to the Krakoff Leadership Institute committee for review. Each applicant will be rated using the point system identified above. For the program’s success and for your success, you must have:
• A personal commitment to, and passion for, the exhibition and event industry. • A commitment to remain actively involved in the Leadership Institute program in subsequent years.
KLI Mentoring Program
KLI applicants are encouraged to work with a mentor during their first year as a KLI. The KLI Mentoring Program is based on the idea that tomorrow’s industry leaders can be more rapidly developed when coached or guided by a current industry leader. Mentors can provide KLI candidates leadership guidance, general career advice, information and opportunities in the exhibition industry, make introductions, serve as a constructive critic and much more.
