Stephen Covey, author of all-time best selling business book, The Seven Habits of Highly Successful People calls Tim Durkin: “one of the most amazing people I have ever met”.
Prior to becoming a professional leadership facilitator, Tim was the Vice President of Trade Shows and Conventions and then Executive Vice President of Administration for the Dallas Market Center, which is one of the busiest exhibition centers in the United States.
Tim is very familiar with the opportunities and challenges that an evolving leader in the exhibitions and events industry may encounter. Tim says: “I have set up booths, rolled out carpet, hung pipe and drape, conceived trade shows, sold booth space, negotiated contracts, run a forklift and even hauled trash. I have also been on the consumer side, having done site selection, negotiated with venues, designed and printed brochures staffed and run a registration counter and walked hundreds of miles of aisles.”
Tim’s background includes senior management experience at Xerox, IBM, and Ernst & Young where he developed and led successful sales, marketing and culture shift strategies. He also lectures on leadership at the Texas A&M University Fellow Program in College Station, Texas.
Derek Jeter, shortstop and captain of the New York Yankees, says: “Anyone who wants to learn about leadership should call Tim Durkin”.
