Program DescriptionMedia in Transition + Culture in Transition = Workplace In Transition
The past five to ten years represent some of the most significant changes in media that North American culture has ever witnessed. These changes in the mediascape have been born from, and adopted by, North America's younger generations. Join Mike Farrell, Partner and CSO at Youthography (North America's most significant full-service research and marketing communications agency dedicated exclusively to youth), as he provides a perspective on these changes and how media transition is fundamentally affecting the way younger North Americans are starting to challenge traditional models associated with organized religion, government, entertainment, brands and, yes, corporations and career path. They are increasingly demanding, and receiving, more control. This no-holds barred workshop will start with a look at today's young culture from a macro perspective (demographics, psychographics, values and attitudes, historical context) and will then move into the nitty gritty regarding today's new multi-generational workplace. Fun and challenging collaborative exercises, engaging moderated group discussion and informal advanced Q&A will be part and parcel of this whole experience. You will leave with: - a refined and informed contextual perspective related to changing generational attitudes in contemporary society.
- an active understanding of the linked impact in the workplace with a focus on recruitment, retention and cross-generational collaboration / collegiality.
-some collaboratively-crafted tools and approaches you can bring back to your particular workplace, project or problem.
