IAEE > EVENTS AND EDUCATION
  The annual application period for consideration of U.S. trade events interested in participating in the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service 2012 International Buyer Program (IBP) is now open. The IBP was established by the U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service to promote U.S. exports by bringing international buyers together with U.S. firms through promoting leading U.S. trade shows in industries with high export potential. The IBP benefits U.S. firms exhibiting at selected events and provides practical, hands-on assistance such as export counseling and market analysis to U.S. firms interested in exporting. 

Attached, please find information and an application form required for applying to the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service 2012 IBP. Applications for the 2012 IBP will be accepted until November 1, 2010. The following documents are enclosed:

  1. 2012 IBP Application Form (required for consideration);
  2. Sample 2012 Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) outlining terms of participation (for reference porposes); and
  3. Federal Register: Notice and Call for Applications for 2012 (for reference purposes).
To be considered for the 2012 IBP, applicants need only submit a completed application form by the deadline specified above.  No fee is required to apply.  Should the applicant be accepted into the program, a signed MOA along with applicable program fee will be required within 45 days of the written notification of acceptance.  The sample MOA is provided at this time for reference purposes only. For deadline purposes, facsimile and e-mail applications will be accepted as interim applications, to be followed by signed original applications to be received within five (5) business days after the application deadline.
