Missing Link for Organizers: AIF Revealed
Look at What Your Exhibitors are Reading
DALLAS,
8 May 2008
- A
vital, yet often missing, piece of information exhibition and event
organizers can provide exhibitors with is the Audience Interest Factor
(AIF) of their show. Aside from the usual specifications such as
attendance figures and exhibit space rates, AIF helps nail down one of
the biggest questions in an exhibitor's mind: How much interest will
there be in my product at this show? The more an organizer can answer
that question, the more exhibitors it will attract.
Lee Knight answers
this question in his article, "AIF: The Need-to-Know Number," now
featured in the May issue of E2: Exhibitions & Events. Originally
published in EXHIBITOR Magazine, the International Association of
Exhibitions and Events has reprinted the article in its bi-monthly
e-zine because of the topic's high relevance and importance factor to
all within the exhibitions and events industry.
IAEE
President Steven Hacker,
CAE reinforced the
value of this new metric by saying, The days of legacy exhibiting at
shows are over. Exhibitors need to understand more about their
participation in exhibitions and events, including what their ROI could
be and how to better understand a shows audience. They also want to
know more specifics about audience demographics, which is why more
organizers are voluntarily adopting independent third party attendance
verification (audits).
