IAEELive – A Consumer Events Forum

Designed in collaboration with the IAEE Consumer Events Council, this new IAEE stand alone event is specially geared to those who produce consumer focused shows or live events!

Presenters will guide conversations and networking exercises that will engage participants to think differently and creatively.  Discuss strategic ideas beyond tactics and checklists that create events with shared passion and purpose.  Hear the latest trends in experience design, safety and security and monetizing your show. Additional conversation topics will include Emerging Trends, Safety/Security, Sales, PR and Marketing, Technology, Sponsorship, Experiential Design, and Creating the “Fandom” Experience.

This event qualifies for 3.5 credit hours toward CEM recertification.

Dianne Budion Devitt

Dianne Budion Devitt, industry innovator and founder of the DND Group specializes in experience design, creative direction and event production.   As an inspirational Speaker, Educator and Event Producer, Dianne is known for her unique style blending creativity, vision and leadership for over 25 years in hospitality industry.

Dianne’s experience as executive producer and planner includes leading teams for with the Commemoration for the Apollo Landing on the Moon at MIT, the Presidential Vietnam 50th Commemoration, Clinton Global Initiative and high-level customer events for Starwood Hotels and Resorts as well as distinct events and meetings for Board of Directors and Senior Management.  She inspired and created the concept for the first regional events conference and trade show, AgendaLive! An Assistant Professor at New York University for over 25 years, Dianne teaches courses in event design and conference and event planning for the Undergraduate and Certificate program.

Mark Herrera
Director of Education
International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM)

Mark Herrera is the Director of Education for the International Association of Venue Managers.  As part of his duties, Mark teaches Situational Awareness-Mindset training aimed at giving venues the tools to be safer and more secure.   The training emphasizes on Exceptional Focus, Performance, and Control in Extreme Situations.

In addition, as the Director of Education for IAVM, Mark represents the Department of Homeland Security Office of Infrastructure Protection through the Public Assembly Facility Sub-Sector Council.  As a representative of the Public Assemblies Facilities Sub-Sector Council he works in collaboration with the Department of Homeland Security and the Protective Security Advisor to assure that information is provided to protect our Public Facility Assemblies and all Critical Infrastructures.   Mark is also on the National Fire Protection Association Technical Advisory Committee for Assembly Occupancies.

Herrera is also a seasoned law enforcement officer and trainer, having spent twenty years with the Hobbs, NM, Police Department in numerous roles including Patrol Officer, Detective for the Gang and Narcotics unit, Supervisor of the Crime Prevention Division, Field Training Officer, Honor Guard Commander, and Entry Team Leader and Tactical Sergeant for a Special Operations Unit known as S.W.A.T.

During this time, his responsibilities also included the development and implementation of security policies and procedures and security awareness programs for the Community of Hobbs.

Upon retiring from the police department, he leveraged his training background to implement security policies, procedures and training programs for the oil and gas industry and later worked as an instructor for the DHS, training 3,000 armed pilots to defend against acts of terrorism involving criminal violence or air piracy.

Sherron Washington, M.A. is the founder and CEO of The P3 Solution a full-service marketing and communication (marcomm) firm that specializes in providing simple strategy, design and social media marketing solutions for SME’s, associations and entrepreneurs.  She has built her firm around the principle of “marketing simple,” which instruct clients to embrace simplified methods to promoting their business. As a speaker, trainer and professor, Sherron has an energetic style that captivates and educates simultaneously, sharing expert marketing insight in fun interactive sessions that engage the participants and enhance the learning experience. Sherron has presented at several conferences around the country including, 2016 The International Council of Small Business Conference, Modern Femme, Inbound 2017 and Pubcon to just to name a few.

She has also been a Business Communication professor for over 13 years at Trinity University in Washington, D.C. in which she has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in: Public Speaking, Introduction to Mass Communication, Theory and Practice of Marketing, Gender and Communication, Leadership, Introduction to Women Studies, Intercultural Communication, Interpersonal Communication, Consumer Behavior, Advertising and Promotion, Social Media Marketing and Public Relations.

Sherron’s goal is to educate businesses on how to develop and execute better marketing strategies that will help them to grow.
