The SWIAEE Children’s Charity Classic is an annual gathering of event industry suppliers and organizers entering its 28th year of existence. This enjoyable and entertaining day, that attendees come back to year after year, provides an opportunity for rubbing elbows with customers, catching up with old friends, and have a little fun along the way.
This event would not be what it is today if it weren’t for the efforts of some great people along the way. Ray Moriarty was one of the good guys! Ray Moriarity spent 48 years working in the exhibitions and events industry. He was co-owner of Paradice Expo Services and truly loved the business. Ray was known for his hard work as a member of the SWIAEE Board. In his time on the board, Ray organized numerous chapter outings to local horse racing venues and would gladly help the first-time attendee choose the perfect exacta or get you your favorite beverage!
To help out folks less fortunate, Ray proudly ran the SWIAEE Children’s Charity Golf Classic for 20 years building this event to what it still is today. The money raised from this event supported (and still does today) California Family Life Center (CFLC) located in Hemet, CA.
CFLC provides support for challenged children and teens by providing Foster Family services, Youth Homes, Job Training and Kin Care. CFLC is a leader among organizations of its type in the Riverside County area and greatly values its partnership with SWIAEE.
Sadly we lost Ray this past December 28th but his legacy lives on each June as we gather on the golf course…just the way Ray liked it!
So when you think about joining us on June 11 at Monarch Beach remember that it is not just about the fun….It is about celebrating the legacy and loving heart of people like Ray Moriarity and also helping an organization improve the lives of marginalized children.
