Betsy Bair is Vice President, Strategic Narratives, for Velvet Chainsaw Consulting, which provides strategic consulting for organizers that are interested in growing or transforming their major face-to-face, hybrid, and virtual events through redesign of premium education, networking, sponsorships, or the tradeshow floor. She was formerly executive director of content for MeetingsNet.

Samantha Krich, MBA, Associate Director, USO Congresses, Biogen

Samantha Krich is an Associate Director at Biogen, a global biotechnology company, where she oversees congress strategy and execution for the U.S. organization.  Prior to Biogen, Sam was employed at Pri-Med, a live events medical education company, for 10 years where she managed the operations, meetings and client services team. Sam currently resides in South Boston. She has been an active member of IAEE England for the past seven + years, also serving as a board member. In her spare time, she loves spending her time on the Cape and taking long walks with her rescue dog Palmer.

Brian Cuthbert, Group Vice President, Diversified Communications

Brian Cuthbert is a Group Vice President at Diversified Communications U.S., a global media company with market-leading exhibitions, conferences, digital products and publications. He is responsible for Diversified Communications’ Business Communities division, overseeing broad portfolio of conferences, tradeshows, and digital products. Brands under Mr. Cuthbert’s stewardship include the Institute of Finance & Management (IOFM), Intersolar North America, The Running Event, Running Insight, American Society of Administrative Professionals, the Administrative Professionals Conference and Vinexpo New York. Previously, Mr. Cuthbert held sales and leadership roles at Greenhaven Partners and Kennedy Information – selling and leading sales teams across a wide variety of industries.

Tim HeffernanChief Development Officer, T3 Expo

Tim Heffernan works with clients to deliver the physical manifestation of their brand across events, retail and corporate office environments. He leads business development teams to accomplish this by focusing on guiding employees, attendees, and consumers across curated journeys that end in shareable moments. In addition, he directs innovation across marketing, government relations, and product development.

Prior to T3 Expo, Heffernan had experience leading and advising governments and Fortune 1000s through all phases of go-to-market strategy, marketing/communications, government relations and product development. He holds patent pending technologies across retail technologies, and has been cited as an expert across business and trade publications. He led teams both on the agency and client side at companies including: Cable & Wireless (Liberty Global), NCR, Motorola, Symbol Technologies (Zebra Technologies), The NPD Group, Weber/Shandwick and Aperio Strategy Group.

Heffernan has received numerous industry awards, and as recognition for his contributions within the U.S. government, received multiple challenge coins from the Department of Defense and a token of appreciation from The White House.  He is currently serving as an advisor / vice chair to the International Franchise Association’s appointment to the White House working group to reopen the country from COVID-19.

Heffernan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of Rhode Island. While there, he received numerous academic awards in the area of political science.  He also holds the distinction of becoming one of the first civilian student representatives at the U.S. Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island. He resides in Miami with his wife and daughter.

John Washko, Vice President of Expo & Convention Sales, Mohegan Sun 

John Washko is the Vice President of Expo & Convention Sales at Mohegan Sun, located in Mystic Country, CT.   In this role, he is responsible for leading the Expo & Convention sales team, setting the overall strategic direction and goals while achieving revenue targets for Mohegan Sun.

Washko is a veteran in luxury hospitality sales and marketing with over 25 years of experience. Most recently, Washko was the Vice President of Group Marketing and Sales for Atlantis, Paradise Island. Prior to that role, Washko was Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Elite Meetings International, a hospitality marketing and technology company.   Prior to that role, Washko was the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the historic The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Washko currently sits on HSMAI’s Americas Board Executive Committee as Chair Elect as well as the HSMAI Sales Advisory Board and the Board of the Connecticut Convention & Sports Bureau. Past roles include chairing HSMAI’s Resort Marketing Advisory Board. Additionally, for the Colorado Springs CVB, he chaired both the Board as well as the Marketing Committee. In 2010, Washko received The Resort Marketer of Year award from HSMAI; and in 2015, HSMAI recognized him as one of the Top 25 Extraordinary Minds in Sales & Marketing. Washko received his BS from James Madison University.
