Workplace Violence & Active Shooter Preparedness
September 26, 2019
Presented by Emad “Al” Shenouda, Co-Founder/Chief Learning Officer – The Power of Preparedness
Would you know what to do if gunshots rang out in your event space or workplace right now?
It’s an unpleasant thought, but unfortunately, it’s something we must prepare for to protect patrons of our events and staff in our facilities. Workplace violence and active shooter events are on the rise, can cause catastrophic injuries and casualties, and can have financial and emotional consequences to your organization that will be felt for years or even decades later.
In partnership with The Power of Preparedness (TPOP), this webinar will explore the threats and consequences to your organization and our industry and recommend ways to prepare for and mitigate these types of events. Emad “Al” Shenouda, TPOP co-founder and former Federal Protective Security Advisor assigned to the Eastern District of Michigan from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, National Protection and Programs Directorate, will brief IAEE members on the trending threats, lessons learned from recent incidents, their potential impact on the events industry, and provide concrete recommendations necessary to secure the safety and sustainability of your workplaces and event spaces.
