Attendees Give Back at Expo! Expo! IAEE’s Annual Meeting & Exhibition

December 23, 2019

Funds Raised and Donations Made to Las Vegas Organizations

The International Association of Exhibitions and Events® (IAEE) gave back to local organizations during Expo! Expo! IAEE’s Annual Meeting & Exhibition 2019 held 3-5 December in Las Vegas, Nev. Each year, Expo! Expo! attendees take part in activities and fundraisers that benefit organizations local to the host city.

Attendees volunteered during the morning of Tuesday, 3 December at Three Square, which provides wholesome food to hungry people while passionately pursuing a hunger-free community. Three Square combines food banking (warehousing canned and boxed goods), food rescue (obtaining surplus or unused meats, bread, dairy and produce from hospitality and grocery outlets), and ready-to-eat meals in its effort to be the most complete food solution for Southern Nevada.

Expo! Expo! attendees also helped raise $15,000 for the organization the following evening at the 11th annual Humanity Rocks: A Celebration with a Cause, brought to you by founding sponsor GES.

One of the networking activations on the Expo! Expo! show floor and IAEE Hangout included Lego® stations where attendees could flex their creative muscles while connecting with fellow participants. The 9,000 Lego® pieces used for this activity were then donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®) of Greater Las Vegas, which creates and supports programs that directly improve the health, education, and well-being of children in the community. The Ronald McDonald House® is the cornerstone program of RMHC® and provides temporary housing for families who travel to Las Vegas to receive critical medical treatment for their children.

“Exhibitions and events not only generate revenue for the cities in which they are held, but they also provide the opportunity for industries to give back to local communities,” said IAEE President and CEO David DuBois, CMP, CAE, FASAE, CTA. “Charitable organizations are always grateful for the support and we enjoy paying forward the hospitality we receive from the city.”
