March 17, 2016

Edward Krause to be Honored at IMEX Frankfurt

Edward KrauseDALLAS – The International Association of Exhibitions and Events™ (IAEE) congratulates Edward J. Krause III (Ned), President and CEO of E.J. Krause & Associates, Inc. (EJK) as this year’s recipient of the IAEE International Excellence Award. The IAEE International Excellence Award recognizes an individual or organization that has made exceptional strides in creating, launching and managing an international event in the exhibitions and events industry on an international scale.

Krause has more than 30 years of experience in the exhibition, conference and publishing industries through his work with EJK, headquartered in Bethesda, Md. EJK produces more than 40 events in 14 different industries such as telecommunications, IT, manufacturing, construction, energy, plastics, paper and forestry, food, environmental and security. From eight offices across three continents, EJK has formed numerous global alliances and partnerships with government groups in China, Russia and other emerging markets, as well as with other major show producers and associations around the world making it one of only a few trade show organizers with a true global sales and marketing network.

EJK was founded in 1984 by Krause and his father, Ted, who was a pillar of the industry in his own right. Krause took over the leadership of the company and has built EJK into an industry leader. He has received various awards from the exhibitions and events industry throughout his career including the IAEE Pinnacle Award in 2007, the Robert L. Krakoff Award of Excellence and various awards from the Society of Independent Show Organizers (SISO). He has been named one of the top 100 influential people in the trade show business by Trade Show Week magazine. Krause was the first person representing the United States to be elected to the Board of Directors of UFI – the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry. He serves on the SISO Board of Directors and is an active member of IAEE.

Prior to EJK, Krause served as the Director of Marketing of Clapp & Poliak International, where he spearheaded a successful move into developing markets in Latin America and the Far East. This included organizing the first major U.S. trade show held in China since normalization in 1980. Prior to Clapp & Poliak, he held major responsibilities for trade events at the U.S. Department of Commerce International Trade Administration and the U.S. Department of Transportation, where he played a key role in developing the largest aviation and transportation exhibition ever held in the U.S.

“Ned Krause has been a true pioneer in the internationalization of the exhibitions and events industry,” noted IAEE President and CEO David DuBois, CMP, CAE, FASAE, CTA. “He has been ambitious and adventurous in exploring new territories and markets, and continues to open doors for our industry today. Ned exemplifies the intent of the IAEE International Excellence Award and we are proud to honor him for his achievements.”
