DALLAS, 20 January 2016 – The International Association of Exhibitions and Events™ (IAEE) announces the selection of Mary Bender, Marketing Director for Emerald Expositions, as 2016 Chairperson of the IAEE Public Events Council. Serving as additional officers of the Council are Vice Chairperson Joe Cascio, General Manager of the New Jersey Convention & Exposition Center and Immediate Past Chairperson Bob Morgan, General Manager of the Dulles Expo Center.
“I look forward to a very productive year as we focus on developing several initiatives,” said Bender. “Our goals in 2016 include developing a resource guide for public event producers; expanding and revising our Public Events Bootcamp programming; and collaborating on research with other consumer show organizations.”
The Council welcomes its newest members Camille Candella, Vice President, Marketing at Emerald Expositions and Cathy Rick-Joule, Vice President, Boat Show Division for the National Marine Manufacturers Association.

The Public Events Council serves as an advocate for organizers and suppliers of public events through awareness, engagement, education and recognition. The Council develops recommendations for the consideration of the IAEE Board of Directors and is permitted to adopt policy statements that address industry issues of particular interest to the organizers and suppliers of public events.
