IAEE Renews Reciprocity Agreement with JEXA

Benefits Expand Relations with Exhibition Industry in Japan

DALLAS – The International Association of Exhibitions and Events™ (IAEE) and the Japan Exhibition Association (JEXA) announced the renewal of a reciprocity agreement to benefit members of both organizations. Originally signed in 2012, the agreement renews the commitment of IAEE and JEXA to promote and develop the exhibitions and events industries in their respective countries through membership collaboration.

“We are proud of the partnership that we have had with JEXA over the past four years,” says IAEE President and CEO David DuBois, CMP, CAE, FASAE, CTA. “As the exhibitions and events industry continues to expand its global reach, IAEE is committed to representing the best interests of the industry as well as its professionals.”

Benefits of the reciprocity agreement may include, but are not limited to:

  1. The extension of member pricing for all products, services, meetings and events that are offered by JEXA and IAEE.
  2. Recognition of the respective professional designations that may be offered by the organizations and the granting of full credit, wherever possible and practical, to applicants for the purpose of accreditation and recertification.
  3. The sharing of research data and information that is relevant and not proprietary.
  4. The creation of jointly sponsored activities and events that will encourage interaction between the members of each organization.
  5. The participation of the leaders of the associations in the major events of each organization.

“With the signing of this Reciprocity Agreement, members of the Japanese exhibition industry look forward to a closer exchange of information, ideas and inspiration with their counterparts in the United States, the largest exhibition market in the world,” said Tad Ishizumi, Chairman, Japan Exhibition Association (JEXA). “I am sure such an exchange will stimulate further growth and new business opportunities on both sides. Meanwhile, we welcome members of IAEE to visit our exhibitions in Japan and to discuss opportunities for even closer collaboration.”

IAEE currently has 26 reciprocity agreements with non-U.S. exhibition industry associations around the world to extend the benefits of like organizations to members to grow their own exhibitions and events. Additionally, Expo! Expo! IAEE’s Annual Meeting & Exhibition is the industry meeting which brings together top-level global exhibition industry executives for the creation of new business relationships. This year’s event will be held 6-8 December 2016 in Anaheim, Calif.
