State of the Industry Reports
In 2009, the Public Events Council fielded a survey on Public Events in 2009 and how they fared in the downturned economy and that data became the baseline for future reports. Data from 2009 and 2010 was used to prepare a 2010 Industry Report revealing the year over year change to 22 industry sectors reported in multiple general categories, such as revenue, exhibit space sold (NSF) and attendees, as well as such topics as sponsorship revenue, event cancellations and launching new events. A public events session during the 2010 Expo! Expo! IAEE’s Annual Meeting and Exhibitions presented the findings. IAEE and the Public Events Council plan to continue to provide follow-up Industry Reports each year comparing the results to the 2009 baseline information.
