Core-apps, an Arnold, Maryland-based provider of mobile event apps and technology for conferences and trade shows, worked with SEMICON West 2017 to deploy an audience response system (ARS) through the event mobile app. It provided interactive, real-time engagement during important live presentations and increased app downloads significantly.
Core-apps’ in-app ARS feature enables speakers to interact with attendees who have downloaded the app. Speakers can poll attendees for feedback or quiz them to ensure that what they’re explaining was understood. They can also accept questions submitted through the app from audience members.
The SEMICON West Conference and Expo features more than 600 exhibitors and 115 hours of programs and networking opportunities for the microelectronics supply chain. The SEMI Organization, which provides industry stewardship, sponsored the event. The Core-Apps team worked with SEMI to identify the ideal sessions for implementing the ARS (to maximize audience participation and efficiency) and train the necessary staff members.
By offering added value and app-only access to features like ARS, SEMI saw a 26% increase in downloads of the event app from last year. More downloads enable them to sell additional app sponsorships next year, as well as promote the use of the app to attendees.
