From Onsite to Online: Virtual Poster Gallery

April 8, 2020

CadmiumCD, based out of Forest Hill, MD, is an All-In-One Event Management + Attendee Engagement Platform. Their services include conference proceedings, on-site audio recording, audio synchronization with presentation slides, abstract collection systems, speaker data collection, review tools, poster galleries, online itinerary planners, exhibitor management tools, and conference education apps.

American Academy of Audiology (AAA) hosts a poster gallery every year at their annual conference. This gives students, young professionals and researchers the opportunity to showcase and present new research to their colleagues and peers in the audiology industry. The posters are judged onsite where an award is given by the Audiology’s Foundation. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, AAA had to cancel their face-to-face conference and move everything online.

During this process, the AAA team thought about what aspects can be moved online. The Poster Gallery was an essential part of the event experience so they contacted CadmiumCD, their Digital Poster Gallery vendor and started working on how to create a virtual experience for attendees.

AAA used CadmiumCD’s eventScribe ePoster Gallery to build a Virtual Poster Hall that rivaled the onsite experience. Attendees can peruse the poster gallery online and presenters still have the opportunity to showcase their research. Presenters are also using the new CadmiumCD audio recording feature in the Conference Harvester to record their presentations, as well as uploading videos so that attendees can engage with the full experience expected of a conference poster hall.

The eventScribe Poster Gallery is just one part of the CadmiumCD myCadmium Platform. This platform has been developed over the past 20 years to meet the needs of conference and trade show organizers.
