Personalizing the Online Experience for Each Exhibitor

Ungerboeck Software International, based in O’Fallon, MO, is a leading event technology platform trusted by over 50,000 event professionals in more than 50 countries and has 30+ years of event platform building.

We’ve all become accustomed to conducting business online. Whether it’s buying a product or completing an application or paying a bill, if something can be made self-serviceable, it probably is. Not only have we come to expect DIY options, we expect to be able to conduct business when it’s most convenient for us. So, it should come as no surprise that exhibitors desire a similar experience when doing business with show organizers.

Unfortunately, the ease and convenience exhibitors have come to expect in other areas have been slow to materialize in their dealings with show organizers. This is partly due to the lack of technology, but the most significant factor has been the lack of flexibility and adaptability in existing technology. Customers are not all the same. Current exhibitors, past exhibitors, first-time exhibitors, etc., all have different needs. Traditional “one-size-fits-all” solutions never truly “fit” anyone, and the online experience suffers as a result.

Ungerboeck’s proprietary Exhibitor Portal allows show organizers to tailor the online experience for each category of exhibitor on-the-fly. As customers enter the Portal, they are instantly matched against data housed in Ungerboeck’s purpose-built CRM and categorized accordingly. They are greeted with the appropriate welcome message and guided through the process, presented with only those forms and/or pages that are relevant to them. If desired, organizers can offer a “Choose-Your-Own-Adventure” option wherein customers are presented questions, the answers to which determine which forms/pages are then presented.

By personalizing the exhibitor’s “journey” in real-time, the experience is both satisfying and efficient. Want prospective exhibitors to provide certain information about themselves before presenting them the floor plan? No problem. Want certain categories of exhibitors to be able to purchase exhibit space directly while others are only able to submit applications? No problem. Want to ensure that each exhibitor is presented with certain sponsorship opportunities? No problem. Perhaps you want to lead contracted exhibitors through a specific series of actions, in a specific order, and with specific deadlines for each? Again, no problem.

With Ungerboeck’s Exhibitor Portal, show organizers have the ability to not only make almost anything self-serviceable, each exhibitor navigates through the online experience as if it were custom tailored just for them – because it was.
