Virtual Networking at VOICE Global

Based in Paris, France, Swapcard is an event matchmaking platform powered by artificial intelligence. Swapcard’s platform released new virtual features that were created in a matter of weeks by the team in order to keep up with the industry’s transition to virtual.

Due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, the VOICE Global events team decided to become a 100% virtual event using Swapcard’s platform. The event incorporated Swapcard’s virtual features into their platform, notably:

  • Schedule builder
  • Instant messaging and group chats
  • Virtual exhibitor marketplace
  • Live Q&A during sessions
  • Virtual photobooth
  • Virtual “swag bag”

Using the Swapcard platform, VOICE Global had over 5,500 active users in 24 hours.
Over 700 users made more than one connection with a new networking contact. Almost 10,000 messages were exchanged in group or private chats. Nearly 3,000 new connections were forged online. 75% of the exhibitors’ team members were actively engaging and networking on the platform. Over 1,000 exhibiting team members and exhibitor products were bookmarked by attendees for later reference. 82% of speakers were actively engaging with their audiences on the platform.

Swapcard plans to continue making improvements related to networking and meetings, with the goal of increasing the number of meaningful encounters during events. They aim to provide real, authentic and personal encounters for online events, to offer a better UX for attendees, speakers, exhibitors and sponsors. Swapcard plans to expand the development of their marketplace and integrations with other platforms to reduce restrictions on to their clients. Swapcard is working to ensure their platform becomes a permanent community for its users where they can network, chat, buy, sell, learn and exchange all year long. Also, Swapcard is working on continuous version improvements of our recommendation algorithms for their AI-powered matchmaking as well on their User Experience. Their goal is to guide attendees and exhibitors through their whole journey, from registration to well after then event has taken place, and provide each of them a tailored, personalized experience.
