It is important to maintain the CEM designation to ensure I am keeping up with new trends and core information about the industry.
What made you want to obtain your CEM designation?
I wanted to obtain my CEM designation to learn more about the exhibition industry and bring more value to my company and show.
What advice would you give to an aspiring individual who wants to apply for the CEM program?
My advice to someone who is considering applying for their CEM is… DO IT! You will learn so much and make great industry connections. I enjoyed every second of it.
How did you start your career in this industry?
I started my career in the hotel and lodging side of the industry.
How have you made a difference with your show or with working with a client by applying the knowledge you gained by obtaining your CEM designation?
The biggest difference that I have made with my show this far is how I select and negotiate with my service contractors.
What was it that you did or implemented right after obtaining your CEM?
After each CEM course, I took back the information learned and put it to use. For example, after my budgeting and finance course I evaluated my show budget for next year and made improvements. I enjoyed putting the new knowledge to action and will continue to do so.
What did you like most about the CEM Learning Program?
What I liked most about the CEM Learning Program was getting to share experiences and ideas with fellow classmates and instructors during each course.
