It has helped tremendously! I have really gained a wealth of knowledge that is invaluable.

It is respected in the industry and gives you some credibility amongst your peers!

My job is the best – they encourage professional development. I found this designation and it fits my role PERFECTLY!

What advice would you give to an aspiring individual who wants to apply for the CEM program?

DO IT! Don’t wait! I hesitated for about a year because I was concerned with the amount of time it would take. It’s worth the time and I would’ve done it a long time ago had I known how much this would help me!

A temp agency in college! I was working towards a degree in Organizational Communications and this was my day job to get me through school!

How have you made a difference with your show or with working with a client by applying the knowledge you gained by obtaining your CEM designation?

I am able to bring organization to our program, put together sponsorship packages with some industry knowledge and understanding which is a great complement to my on-the-job experience.

What was it that you did or implemented right after obtaining your CEM?

So much! I automated my sponsorship and exhibitor sign ups, created an agreement to protect all parties involved, but mostly the org I work for!

I loved it all! Networking was great. I love that I was able to do this at my desired pace (which was accelerated) and that I could work around my work schedule.
