How has the CEM designation helped in your career?
Earning the CEM designation has been a turning point in my career. It gave me a deeper understanding of how to plan, manage, and deliver impactful exhibitions and events. I’ve gained confidence in my decisions, improved the quality of my work and become better at creating experiences that truly connect with audiences.
Why is it important to maintain the CEM designation?
The exhibitions and events industry is evolving so quickly, and maintaining the CEM designation helps me stay up to date with new trends, tools and strategies. It’s not just about keeping the title; it’s about continuing to learn and making sure I deliver the highest standards in every project I work on.
What made you want to obtain your CEM designation?
I’ve always believed in investing in myself and my professional growth. When I learned about the CEM program, I saw it as an opportunity to take my skills to the next level and learn from the best in the industry. I wanted to challenge myself, expand my knowledge and become part of a global community of professionals.
What advice would you give to an aspiring individual who wants to apply for the CEM program?
Go for it and enjoy the journey. The CEM program is more than just a certification; it’s a learning experience that pushes you to think differently and approach challenges in new ways. Be open, stay curious and take every opportunity to apply what you learn – it’s worth every effort.
How did you start your career in this industry?
I started my career working on communication strategies and organizing corporate events, and that’s where I discovered my passion for exhibitions. Over time, I got involved in bigger projects, managing national and international events, and each experience made me more excited about creating unique, meaningful and seamless event experiences.
How have you made a difference with your show or with working with a client by applying the knowledge you gained by obtaining your CEM designation?
The CEM program taught me how to approach events from a more strategic perspective. I’ve used this knowledge to better understand clients’ needs, design more effective event plans, and deliver experiences that exceed expectations. It’s helped me build stronger relationships with clients and create events that leave a lasting impact.
What was it that you did or implemented right after obtaining your CEM?
Right after obtaining my CEM, I started applying the knowledge and strategies I learned directly to my ongoing projects. I focused on improving event planning processes, enhancing client communication, and introducing new approaches to make our exhibitions more engaging and impactful. It motivated me to take a more strategic role and bring fresh ideas to every project.
