How has the CEM designation helped in your career?
The CEM designation has helped me become a more well-rounded team member within my company. The amount of knowledge that I’ve acquired from classmates and classes is priceless.
Why is it important to maintain the CEM designation?
The industry is in constant evolution. Maintaining CEM designation allows me to stay ahead of the curve on the latest technology, trends, etc.
What made you want to obtain your CEM designation?
I am always looking to better myself. Once I knew that I had found the perfect career path for myself, I knew I needed to find the next steps on how to become better and improve on what I could offer in my position…and my CEM designation was the next step!
What advice would you give to an aspiring individual who wants to apply for the CEM program?
DO IT! The classes and how they are offered make it so easy to tailor to your busy work schedule. I only took online classes, but really got great insight and information from my teachers and colleagues.
How did you start your career in this industry?
I began in our company’s editorial department, handling our awards programs. The awards are always presented onsite at our trade shows, and I was asked to help on-site. I was hooked and presented a full-time event/awards/VIP clients position and my team loved it.
Fun fact about you – What is one thing most people don’t know about you?
I am the first female on both sides of my family to graduate from a University. Huge accomplishment for my family, so looking forward to walking across the stage at Expo! Expo!.
