It has helped me to better understand all aspects of the industry and ensure our events are on the right path.

Why is it important to maintain the CEM designation?

It is important to maintain the CEM designation to stay up with industry trends.

What made you want to obtain your CEM designation?

I wanted my CEM to further my knowledge of the industry and verify that the changes I was making and recommending to better our event was going to actually accomplish the end goals. I am happy to say we were moving in the right direction.

What advice would you give to an aspiring individual who wants to apply for the CEM program?

If you have worked in the trade show or meeting planning field or looking to start, this is a great program.

How did you start your career in this industry?

I started in the industry by demonstrating software at events and helping with trade show setups. That lead into conference planning of AV and eventually being over to trade shows.

How have you made a difference with your show or with working with a client by applying the knowledge you gained by obtaining your CEM designation?

At the time I started my CEM journey, we were in the process of re-branding our event and adding additional items to our show.  The CEM program helped verify our decisions and provided details on how to make it even better.

What was it that you did or implemented right after obtaining your CEM?

After earning my CEM, I implemented education sessions on the expo floor and marketed our event as an educational expo.

What did you like most about the CEM Learning Program?

I liked reading others’ comments and insights into the assignments. Classmates can provide those little details that you may have overlooked which in the end will help improve your overall event.

Fun fact about you – What is one thing most people don’t know about you?

I recently started racing Karts again and am loving it!
