Being a newly minted CEM, I hope the designation will lead to my next challenge in the industry.

Why is it important to maintain the CEM designation?

It is important to maintain the designation to keep abreast of current and/or upcoming trends in the industry, and also network with fellow industry practitioners.

What made you want to obtain your CEM designation?

I have been in the exhibitions & events industry for over 15 years and wanted to get a certification that would reflect that experience.

What advice would you give to an aspiring individual who wants to apply for the CEM program?

Whether you are new or a veteran in the industry, the CEM Program will enhance your knowledge through both theoretical and practical examples shared during the program.

How did you start your career in this industry?

I started in this industry as a contract staff with Reed Exhibitions while on university vacation.  And I haven’t looked back since. 🙂

How have you made a difference with your show or with working with a client by applying the knowledge you gained by obtaining your CEM designation?

I have sought to tweak the working relationship with the sales team, in order to better meet their objectives; and also, the communication approach to relevant stakeholders.

What was it that you did or implemented right after obtaining your CEM?

I reviewed one of the operational processes for an event I am currently working on.

What did you like most about the CEM Learning Program?

The real-life examples/experiences shared by the instructor and fellow students.  It added to the breadth and depth of knowledge.
