How has the CEM designation helped in your career?
The CEM designation has helped in learning more aspects of my event, which allowed for more responsibility.
Why is it important to maintain the CEM designation?
It’s important to maintain the CEM designation so that I continue to be seen as a capable leader in the industry. And of course, to avoid more exams!
What made you want to obtain your CEM designation?
My employer offered me the opportunity to go through the CEM Learning Program. Having your organization invest in your professional development is always worth pursuing and it allowed me to expand my position.
What advice would you give to an aspiring individual who wants to apply for the CEM program?
Do it! The program is flexible with varied options to meet your learning style best.
How did you start your career in this industry?
I started working as a part-time exhibit sales person nearly 10 years ago.
How have you made a difference with your show or with working with a client by applying the knowledge you gained by obtaining your CEM designation?
From what I learned from the CEM courses and my peers, I was able to bring new ideas to the table.
What was it that you did or implemented right after obtaining your CEM?
Right after receiving my CEM, I went to dinner and celebrated the accomplishment. LOL!
What did you like most about the CEM Learning Program?
I liked the versatility of online and classroom options. You’re able to earn the designation at your own pace.

I’m an open book, so that’s always a tough question.
