How has the CEM designation helped in your career?
It is a universally recognized accreditation, which has helped me to enhance my profile. For a trade fair professional, the CEM designation definitely is a bonus as it is indicative of your expertise in exhibition management.
Why is it important to maintain the CEM designation?
To demonstrate my qualifications as an industry professional and at the same time keep myself updated through constant learning which the program demands.
What made you want to obtain your CEM designation?
As someone who has been engaged with the exhibition industry for more than 10 years, this was a natural and logical step; to gain knowledge and perspective in a more structured way, learn from the experts and by the end of it gain a designation which is industry-oriented and recognized at large by most players in this realm.
What advice would you give to an aspiring individual who wants to apply for the CEM program?
I would say just go for it, learn about various industry nuances and challenges, network with like-minded professionals and get a valid designation on your profile which will complement your career growth.
How did you start your career in this industry?
By being an interpreter at the German pavilion at one of the shows in India, and the rest just happened very organically. The transition from executive to director has been quite an eventful journey.
How have you made a difference with your show or with working with a client by applying the knowledge you gained by obtaining your CEM designation?
I think most importantly, the program helps you to structure your thoughts and working processes. This, in turn, helps you to streamline a lot of things which makes your event and presentation very professional and the overall functioning quite effective.
What was it that you did or implemented right after obtaining your CEM?
I referred to a lot of tools that were passed on to us by the instructors and used them in my daily workflow processes to optimize the output.
What did you like most about the CEM Learning Program?
I loved the interactive nature of the sessions, every perspective taught me something new and the diverse experiences of my batch-mates gave me an insight into the broader workings of the industry.
Fun fact about you – What is one thing most people don’t know about you?
I am an ardent Harry Potter Fan, change my nail polish every day and love collecting travel pins for the board at my workplace.
