Here, Elizabeth shares with readers why she believes Expo! Expo! IAEE’s Annual Meeting & Exhibition 2022 is THE PLACE TO BE and why she looks forward to being at Expo! Expo! in Louisville, Kentucky on 13-15 December.
IAEE: What are your favorite aspects about the education sessions at Expo! Expo!?
Elizabeth: The education sessions at Expo! Expo! are great for learning from numerous perspectives. As an organizer, I love hearing the perspectives from those who work with business-to-consumer (B2C) audiences or with industry verticals outside of my own. I fully believe that is where we can discover new tactics or become open to strategies that could have an application in my own job function.
IAEE: What stands out to you when you walk the Expo! Expo! show floor?
Elizabeth: While I love connecting with my current partners, there is always a good amount of new vendors and ideas to discover throughout the expo days that I can take back to my team. Plus, the show floor is never boring! There are micro-learning sessions, meet up areas and, most importantly, plenty of snacks.
IAEE: What do you enjoy most about the networking activities at Expo! Expo!?
Elizabeth: You never know who you are going to run into! Some of the most serendipitous meetings have happened at a coffee break, First Timer’s reception or in line to get a drink. There are so many opportunities to introduce yourself to the person sitting next to you and make a new connection.
IAEE: What are some of your favorite moments from past Expo! Expo! experiences?
Elizabeth: There are too many to count! A few that stick out immediately are seeing Andy Grammer at the 2016 event in Los Angeles, taking a riverboat to the Young Professionals rooftop party in San Antonio in 2017 and sharing my experiences on my local chapter’s board with other chapter leaders at the Chapter Leaders Forum.
IAEE: What are you looking forward to experiencing at this year’s Expo! Expo! in Louisville, KY?
Elizabeth: After attending Expo! Expo! virtually in 2020 and 2021, I’m so excited to be back in person! I’ve been able to attend some industry events (as well as HIMSS’ own events) and it’s evident that nothing can truly replace the in-person experience. I’m looking forward to seeing those industry colleagues I haven’t seen in two or more years in person as well as meet those who I’ve gotten to know virtually through other IAEE networking and educational offerings.
IAEE: What inspired you to serve on this year’s Expo! Expo! Advisory Committee?
Elizabeth: As a member of IAEE, there are so many opportunities to be able to provide insights and feedback to help build an organization that benefits us, the members. I’m honored to serve on the Expo! Expo! Advisory Committee to get a glimpse at the behind-the-scenes planning and help offer guidance on shaping success for future events.
