IAEE Congratulates 2020 Bob Dallmeyer Education Fund Grant Recipients

Today, the International Association of Exhibitions and Events® (IAEE) announced the 2020 recipients of the Bob Dallmeyer Education Fund Grant. The Bob Dallmeyer Education Fund supports exhibitions and events industry education and professional development by providing a challenging and engaging educational experience for young professionals, professionals new to the exhibitions and events industry, those that are intellectually curious about trends and opportunities, and those that are interested in learning about the global marketplace.

Each year, applicants for grants are required to submit detailed information regarding their employment and experience in the exhibitions and events industry, as well as their intent for continued education and development of their career.

“Each year, IAEE awards grant funding to industry members who stand out because of their passion and commitment to enhancing their professional skills,” said IAEE President & CEO David DuBois, CMP, CAE, FASAE, CTA. “This year, we are proud to recognize and reward these individuals for their ongoing pursuit of excellence in our industry.”

“This year’s candidates were outstanding,” added Bob Dallmeyer Education Fund Task Force Chairperson Ellen Schwartz, General Manager, Los Angeles Convention Center (ASM). “The task force was impressed with their dedication to the industry and values which matched up to Bob Dallmeyer’s.”

IAEE congratulates this year’s Bob Dallmeyer Education Fund grant recipients:

Shannon Binger, CEM is Senior Manager, Meeting Services with the American Thoracic Society. She describes herself as a lifelong learner who holds education and development with high regard. One of her ongoing career goals is to remain teachable, and she plans to continue with education and professional development throughout all steps of her career. Binger will be applying her grant toward earning her Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) designation.

“I am beyond grateful to be awarded funding from the Bob Dallmeyer Education Fund,” said Binger. “With this grant support, I am able to obtain my Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) designation which is an indispensable achievement for my career and work within the Industry. Thank you IAEE BDEF Task Force for selecting me to be a recipient!”

Dana Jasat is Manager of Exhibit Sales with the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA). She notes that living and attending an international high school in the Middle East shaped her passion for relationship building and diversity. This experience drew her to a career where she would be able to meet and work with people from all around the world. Jasat will be applying her grant toward earning her Certified in Exhibition Management® (CEM) designation.

“During these unprecedented times, where there is so much uncertainty, the Bob Dallmeyer Education Fund has provided me with an opportunity to continue expanding my knowledge, which will allow me to be a more successful leader within my profession,” said Jasat.

Farirai Nandipa Muregi is the Owner of Farirai Nandipa Events, an events management company in Zimbabwe, which has been operating for the past four years playing a major role in the positive transformation in the exhibitions and events management industry in Gweru. She is passionately committed to acquiring essential knowledge, developing leadership skills and honing the utmost professional expertise. Muregi will be applying her grant toward earning her Certified in Exhibition Management® (CEM) designation.

“When I came across the CEM Learning Program, I was ecstatic as I had been searching for the right program to further my career in events and this was the perfect fit,” said Muregi. “Receiving the Bob Dallmeyer Education Fund Grant means I am now able to study with peace of mind knowing that my journey has been fast-tracked. I will finally be part of an elite group of exhibitions and events professionals and hopefully make a meaningful contribution to the industry in Zimbabwe.”
