Janet Sperstad’s career reflects a lifetime of global leadership driving excellence in event and exhibition management. Her work defining the competencies and career pathways that position event and exhibition planning as a design discipline – requiring skills in the social sciences, executive leadership, and cognitive sciences – is recognized internationally.
Janet is widely recognized as an inspiring speaker and educator in the events and exhibitions industry, known for sharing pragmatic inspiration around integrating neuroscience into leadership, event design, and event business development. Madison College honored Janet by naming her faculty emerita for her body of work contributions to the college and events industry.
She is an inductee of the Events Industry Council Hall of Leaders and has been recognized as one of the top 25 Most Influential People in the Meetings and Events Industry Successful Meetings, Event Industry Changemaker of the Year by Meetings Net, International Meeting Planner of the Year by Meeting Professionals Internation (MPI), and Outstanding Achievement in Industry Leadership by International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE).
