IAEE Collaborates with Hangzhou Expo Group to Promote Exhibitions and Events in China

The International Association of Exhibitions and Events® (IAEE) announces its collaboration with Hangzhou Expo Group (HEG) to promote the unique value of global exhibitions and events in China.

IAEE President and CEO Marsha Flanagan, M.Ed., CEM delivered the general session keynote presentation, “Decoding the Exhibition Economy in the Digital Era,” at the third Global Digital Trade Expo (GDTE) held 25-29 September 2024 at the Hangzhou Grand Convention and Exhibition Center. GDTE featured one general and eight themed exhibition halls with 1,546 exhibitors from more than 100 countries, regions and international organizations as well as all provinces, cities and districts in China. It attracted more than 30,000 professional visitors eager to fortify the global digital trade ecosystem, explore global cooperation, promote global digital trade, and share achievements.

“I was honored to share IAEE’s vision for the future of exhibitions and events,” Flanagan said. “Events such as GDTE reinforce the strength of the MICE industry and the value of conducting business in the region.”

The general session also included the announcement of IAEE’s partnership with the Hangzhou Municipal Government, Hangzhou City University and HEG in the Global Digital Exhibition Innovation Center. The center will focus on research led by the university, talent development and digital event technology.

“We have ardently supported China’s exhibition industry for more than two decades and are proud to have hundreds of graduates from IAEE’s Certified in Exhibition Management® (CEM) Learning Program representing China,” added Flanagan. “Collaborating with Hangzhou leaders and major companies in the region to support the incredible work the Center is doing reflects IAEE’s commitment to advancing our industry’s global impact.”

HEG will be exhibiting at Expo! Expo! IAEE’s Annual Meeting & Exhibition 2024 to be held 16-19 December at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, Calif. Working as the strategic partners for the China MICE industry, HEG will also lead a delegation of representatives to Expo!
