Lights, Camera, Climate: How Audio Visual Innovation Is Building Greener (and Cheaper!) Events Behind The Scenes

February 10, 2027 @ 10:30 am - 11:15 am

Webinar Description:

Sustainability efforts are only as good as the conversations happening behind the scenes. Reducing event emissions is a team sport, it requires alignment across every stakeholder in the event ecosystem. This session brings together the organizer and supplier to explore how collaboration across the full event lifecycle can drive meaningful, measurable change. This real-world case study discussion will unpack where often overlooked opportunities such as audio visual production lie, how to navigate cost and sustainability tradeoffs, and how event organizers can engage their supply chain holistically to reduce the carbon footprint of their events. Walk away with practical frameworks for engaging your supply chain and taking shared ownership of your event’s environmental impact.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify at least three high-impact opportunities to reduce both direct and indirect emissions across the event lifecycle, including AV production and business travel.
  • Evaluate the cost-versus-sustainability tradeoffs inherent in event planning decisions and apply a practical framework for navigating them in conversation with suppliers.
  • Develop a set of targeted questions and engagement strategies to hold supply chain partners accountable and drive shared ownership of your event’s environmental impact.

IAEE webinars are free to members and available to non-members for $79. This session is eligible to earn 0.75 clock hours towards CEM recertification.
