SUMMARY:Housing and Registration Management
DESCRIPTION:Today’s exhibition professional has more to do than simply manage an exhibition. In reality\, an exhibition professional is responsible for several crucial service-related elements. Two of the service fundamentals inherent in most events are arranging for accommodations for guests (“housing”) and identifying which guests will be allowed access to which portion of an event (“registration”). Planning must begin early to ensure housing and registration are easily assessed and do not become a hindrance to attending the event. When managed well\, housing and registration can enhance an event and create an incentive for future attendance. \nAfter completing this course\, the participant should be able to: \n\nIdentify key elements of planning and managing registration and housing\nDescribe differences between exhibitors and attendees in housing needs and booking habits\nDescribe differences in registration policies and processes for exhibitors and attendees\nEvaluate housing and registration event management options\nDevelop basic housing and registration planning timelines\nDemonstrate knowledge of financial and contractual commitments\nUnderstand how to manage housing and registration data (e.g.\, GDPR\, data privacy\, data protection\, data security)\n\nTime: 8:30am – 4:30pm Pacific Time \nThis course is hosted by Las Vegas Expo (LVE) and will take place at the LVE office at 6225 Annie Oakley Drive\, Las Vegas\, NV 89120. It will be held from 8:30am – 3:00pm. Those staying to take the exam will have an optional 30-minute study period followed by an hour for the exam. You must read the workbook ahead of class. \nInstructor: Melanie Mathis\, CEM \nLocation: LVE office\, 6225 Annie Oakley Drive\, Las Vegas\, NV 8912 \nFee: $329 for members and non-members \nIf you are a CEM recertifying\, use the following link to register.

SUMMARY:Event Operations - Virtual
DESCRIPTION:Producing successful exhibitions often hinges upon the proper management of logistics. Every event contains thousands of details that must be processed logically\, sequentially and precisely. While managing logistics well is essential\, exhibitions are intended primarily to bring buyers and sellers together in an environment that is conducive to their respective objectives. All of the stakeholders of an exhibition must communicate effectively before\, during and after the event to ensure its success. SUMMARY:Housing and Registration Management - CEM Week
\nAfter completing this course\, the participant should be able to: \n\nIdentify key elements of planning and managing registration and housing\nDescribe differences between exhibitors and attendees in housing needs and booking habits\nDescribe differences in registration policies and processes for exhibitors and attendees\nEvaluate housing and registration event management options\nDevelop basic housing and registration planning timelines\nDemonstrate knowledge of financial and contractual commitments\nUnderstand how to manage housing and registration data (e.g.\, GDPR\, data privacy\, data protection\, data security).\n\nThis course is part of CEM Week at the Huntington Convention Center in Cleveland\, OH and will be held from 8:30am – 3:00pm Eastern Time. Those staying to take the exam will have an optional 30-minute study period followed by an hour for the exam. You must read the workbook ahead of class. \nInstructor: TBD \nLocation: CEM Week\, Huntington Convention Center\, Cleveland\, OH \nFee: $329 for members; $470 for non-members
